                                    Pictures taken at the Topper Open event held at the Blue Lagoon on 2nd September 2007.

 

The Topper Open at Arlesey. A limited entry due to conflicting international events did not prevent a good turn out and a great day of competitive  racing. With a wide range from expert to novice, everyone had an enjoyable time. Winds were fair but challenging and the day had its share of thrills and spills.

 

The conditions were excellent and we had our fair share of the sun. As you can see, this was truly a wonderful late summer event.

 

Whether at the front or the rear, the competition was strong and the outcome never certain.

 

As the day progressed the clouds pressed ever closer but the sun remained strong whenever it broke through, as it did frequently. The wind held fast and the odd gusts only added to everyone's enjoyment.

                                              

You can see here the determination on the faces of some of the competitors. No time for relaxing. Just keep chasing the boat in front.

                                               

At the end of the day there is always a winner. Congratulations and the victor's trophy go to our guest from the Hunts Sailing Club.   Well done Alexander.   Looking forward to the next Topper open at the Blue Lagoon.
